Merry CHRISTmas!

Hey Everyone and Merry Christmas! We are getting ready for a couple of shows we have coming up in the new year - one of them being the kids program at Mission's Fest on January 9th. Email us for more information about attending this event!
As we are trying to find time to get together and practice we can’t help but notice the craziness of Christmas and how important it is to slow things down and really take time to focus on the most important and whole reason for Christmas in the first place… the gift of God sending His son Jesus to earth as a baby to live a perfect life and then die in place of us so that we could be saved from our sin and made right with God. What an amazing, life-changing gift that we can celebrate at this time of year! He is the reason for the season so have a Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year! See you in 2010!
Love and prayers,
Xlr8!

A Note from Megan

Hey, this is Megan (the 5th member of Xlr8!, currently living in Uganda!) Since I'm not a part of the regular meetings while I'm living here, I thought I'd give my own update. If you don't know where Uganda is, it's in East Africa. It's a beautiful country with lots of jungles and grasslands, wild animals, great people, and hot weather! Since the equator runs right through Uganda, it's hot all year round and there are no seasons. It's either rainy, or sunny. So this Christmas will be very different - it'll be hot and sunny, with NO chance of snow!

My husband and I moved here to build a school. We believe that serving God is the most important thing in life, so that's what we're here to do! Being away from XLr8! is sad sometimes, but sometimes God asks us to give up things that are important to us so that we can serve him.

I'll keep you posted with what we're up to!

Your Spirit Lives in Me

This week we’re going over our choreography for our song “Your Spirit Lives in Me” – this song talks about how we believe in Jesus and how he’s the only one who can save us from our sin. We want to “live it, shout it and tell the world” that Jesus lives in us!
You can pray for us for our upcoming performance at Eagle Ridge Church in Coquitlam for their Kid’s Night Out on November 20th. If you are interested in attending this event you can contact Eagle Ridge Church for more details.
Also upcoming is Mission's Fest in January! More details coming soon...

Jer’s random fact of the day: 8:00pm Monday nights, about 2000 people at the International House of Prayer (IHOP) pray for the city of Vancouver!

Weeks of Excitment!

These past few weeks have been ones of excitment and celebration - both Thanksgiving and Halloween!! What were you dressed up as this halloween? Email us a description of your fun outfit, we'd love to hear them! We got to perform at a costume birthday party which was so fun! We saw bumblebee, a fairy princess, Scooby doo, batman and other fun outfits!
Recently, we also celebrated Thanksgiving. We are SO thankful for this ministry! We are thankful that we get to hang out with our friends and share what we are passionate about, see each other grow, share changes in our lives together and especially share our love of music and God with all of the families and kids that we meet all over the world. We are so excited to see what opportunities will come our way this year. Keep checking back – we will soon release the dates of some upcoming family events!

Some Random Facts

Hey guys! Good thing Megan’s on top of the blog (even all the way from Africa!) but we’re going to try to update the blog each Monday, so keep checking back to hear what’s new with XLr8! Currently, Jono’s eating salmon, Carly’s on an exercise ball, Jer’s sitting on a toy horse and Natalie’s in the splits… just a typical Monday meeting! We’re getting ready to perform at a birthday party in a couple of weeks – we love birthday parties! We were wanting to show the movie Pirates of the Caribean but we can’t cause it’s rated ARRR! Yuk yuk yuk. We do get to do our pirate skit though! Well, we better get back to practicing, check back to see what we’re up to next week!

Jer’s random fact of the day: Did you know there are more text messages sent in a day than there are people in the world?!
